The Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has been honoured with an Award of Recognition by his alma mater, St. Patrick’s Grammar School, Ibadan, in acknowledgement of his sustained commitment to mentorship and youth development.

The award was presented during the school’s 64th Founders’ Day celebration in Ibadan, an event that brought together alumni, students, and key stakeholders to celebrate the institution’s legacy of academic excellence and character building.

Mobereola, visibly moved by the recognition, described the honour as deeply personal, reflecting on the formative influence of the school on his life and career.

“Attending the 64th Founders’ Day brought back a flood of nostalgic memories,” he said. “Fifty years after walking through those gates where many of my formative years were shaped, I remain deeply grateful for the friendships, the guidance from teachers and the enduring bond with classmates.”

He also expressed appreciation to the school’s Old Boys’ Association for the recognition, noting that he does not take the honour for granted.

Reaffirming his dedication to nurturing the next generation, the NIMASA boss stressed the importance of mentorship in shaping future leaders.

“I remain committed to serving as a role model to younger generations and to mentoring young men as they navigate their paths,” he said.

Mobereola further urged students of the institution to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to excellence, underscoring the critical role of positive values and guidance in achieving long-term success.

The recognition highlights not only his professional accomplishments but also his enduring investment in human capital development, particularly among young Nigerians.
