Ubong Essien, CSP, to headline FIABCI Nigeria General Meeting on blue economy, real estate opportunities

The International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) Nigeria is set to host a groundbreaking General Meeting themed “The Blue Economy Revolution: Emerging Opportunities for Real Estate Players.”
The event, scheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 8:30 AM at Radisson Blu, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos, will bring together top industry experts, government officials, and real estate professionals to discuss the evolving intersection of real estate and Nigeria’s blue economy.
The event will be headlined by Ubong Essien, CSP, West Africa’s only Certified Speaking Professional (CSP), former Special Adviser on Communications and Strategy to the Director-General of NIMASA, and Founder of the Blue Economy Academy.
With decades of experience in strategic communication, maritime policy, and business development, Ubong Essien will deliver the keynote speech on how real estate investors and developers can leverage Nigeria’s vast coastal and maritime assets for sustainable growth.
Speaking on the upcoming event, Essien emphasized the importance of transitioning from “Crude to Blue” and how real estate players can capitalise on waterfront developments, coastal urbanization, and maritime-driven economic policies.
“Nigeria’s Blue Economy is a multi-billion-dollar frontier waiting to be fully explored. The real estate industry must begin to position itself strategically in areas such as coastal housing, marine tourism, and smart waterfront cities. A statement by the organizers of the event further disclosed that the event will feature an array of high-profile speakers and industry leaders, including: Hon. Moruf Akinderu-Fatai – Commissioner for Housing, Lagos State; Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka – Hon. It was further disclosed that the event will feature expert panel discussions, networking opportunities, and strategic insights into the future of real estate in the blue economy.
Attendance & participation is free for FIABCI members and N100,000 for non-members of FIABCI, among which includes, real estate developers, investors, policymakers, and stakeholders across Nigeria’s maritime and property sectors are encouraged to attend.
