A change of leadership within the Lagos Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) Auto & Allied Sub-sectoral Group was effected on Thursday, August 7, 2025 following the election of Dr Olurunfemi Abidemi Eguakhide as the new Chairman.
The election of Dr. Eguakhide, the current group deputy managing director of R.T. Briscoe (Nigeria) Plc followed the expiration of office of Otunba Adekunke Jaiyesimi, deputy managing director of CFAO Mobility that served for two terms.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Femi Eguakhide thanked members of the LCCI Auto & Allied Sector Group for electing him as the new chairman.

“I want to thank everyone for the confidence reposed in me and especially R.T. Briscoe (Nigeria) Plc that comes first as institutional member company of the sector. I want to specifically thank Otunba Adekunke Jaiyesimi, the outgoing chairman for a job well done and for positively stirring the affairs of the Auto and allied sector in the Chambers”.
The new chairman promised that, the main focus will be to galvanize membership that are inactive to come back fully to enable a robust conversation, enable contribution on ideas and strategies that will move the sector forward very quickly.
“According to him, “The very first thing we will need to do is to drive membership aggressively. That is the very first thing and in doing that, we can now draw from everyone’s experience and put together whatever it is, and have a robust position in terms of advocacy, advise to the larger house to be able to impact government policies and decision making that will then then move the country forward”.
