The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has denied claims that its 2023 presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, will run for presidency on its platform in 2027.
According to the NNPP National Chairman, Dr. Agbo Major, Kwankwaso and Elder Buba Galadima were long expelled from the party for anti-party activities.
“We had long expelled Kwankwaso and Galadima, and so, they no longer speak for us nor can they use our platform for any political contest,” Major said.
He added that the party’s Memorandum of Understanding with the Kwankwasiya Movement, led by Kwankwaso, ended shortly after the 2023 presidential election.
His word: “Kwankwaso’s ambition is dead on arrival”.
Major expressed confidence that Kwankwaso’s ambition to contest against President Bola Tinubu is dead on arrival.
“He does not have the pedigree to match President Tinubu in any contest, and so his ambition is dead on arrival,” he said.
The NNPP chairman emphasised that the party will not readmit Kwankwaso and his group, citing betrayal of trust.
“Kwankwaso and his group remain expelled, and we will not readmit them because they betrayed our trust massively,” Major said.
