NISA, SOAN, Chamber of Shipping meet on NIMAREX 24

AS preparation gears towards the successful hosting of the forthcoming Nigeria Maritime Expo (NIMAREX) 2024, the President of Nigeria Ship-Owners Association (NISA), Otunba Sola Adewunmi, President of Nigeria Chamber of Shipping, Alhaji Aminu Umar, and the President of Ship-owners Association of Nigeria (SOAN), Chief Sunny Aja, on Thursday met in Lagos to brainstorm on NIMAREX 24, and the Nigeria Blue Economy.

Though the outcome of the meeting was yet to be made public at the time of filing this story, the Public Relations Office of NISA, Gbolahan Adu told Advocacy Times that the meeting is to ensure a successful and advancement of the Nigeria Blue Economy.

Recall that during the recent inauguration of the Nigeria Maritime Expo (NIMAREX) 2024, President of Nigeria Ship-owners Association (NISA), Otunba Sola Adewunmi, had called on all stakeholders to join hands in ensuring a successful of hosting of NIMAREX 24.

Otunba Adewunmi further said, “As we embark on this new chapter, it is crucial that we all recognize NIMAREX as our event—a true umbrella that brings together all maritime associations, fostering unity and cooperation across the entire industry. This is not just an event for NISA; it is an event for every stakeholder in the maritime sector. Together, we can make NIMAREX a rallying point where our shared interests are promoted, our challenges are addressed, and our future is shaped.”

He extended an open invitation to other associations to bring their suggestions and ideas on how the event can be collectively planned and executed in a manner that it will truly reflect the diverse and dynamic nature of the Nigerian maritime community.

“Your insights and collaboration are invaluable as we work together to make NIMAREX an event that we can all be proud of,” he said.
