The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) have called on the Assistant Inspector – General Musa Yusuf Garba to arrest the Manager of Premier Container & Allied Services over alleged theft and conversion of containers number: FFAU 2082021, CAIU7022981 and MSDU 7666283.
It expressed dismay over alleged refusal of the terminal to comply with lawful orders on the containers, even as it fears that the containers may have been tampered with, saying, “One is believed to have been stuffed with cement blocks, the other completely empty.”
The NAGAFF in a statement by the National coordinator, Hon Ibrahim Tanko, said while the outcome of AIG Maritime’s office’s painstaking investigation on the subject were duly communicated to the terminal, with the consequential orders allegedly ignoured, he implored the good Office of the AIG Maritime to “immediately commence criminal prosecution against them,” saying, “But for our intelligence network, the containers would have been spirited away in the night of 20th March, 2025.”
He stated that NAGAFF have both physical and material evidence to prove their allegation against the terminal.
He noted that the Office of the AIG Maritime had in its position as the keepers of order and security in the maritime industry, initiated mediations since November, 2024.
“Your office wrote the Nigerian Customs Service for clarification on the status of the containers.
“You obtained clear and unambiguous affirmations that the said containers were duly allocated to Elevate Moore Ventures through the auction process.
“The terminal rejected your letter, questioning your authority in that regard.
“They insisted on getting a letter from the Customs, to ascertain the authenticity of your investigations.”
He noted that Customs wrote them, affirming the Police findings, and ordering them to release the containers to Elevate Moore Ventures.
According to him, the negative intents of the terminal management was laid bare when they lifted the containers without a valid Delivery Order from the shipping line, saying till date, the other “allotees,” talked about by the terminal have never shown up, not even to the Customs to claim ownership.
