Innoson Vehicles Manufacturing Company has announced the withdrawal of the N3 million scholarships it awarded to Miss Joy Mmesoma Ejikeme.
This is coming after the Anambra State committee of inquiry on Saturday revealed that she has admitted forging her 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result.
The panel released its findings on Friday, stating that Mmesoma admitted that she manipulated her scores.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Cornel Osigwe, head of corporate communications, Innoson, said the company made the “difficult decision” to withdraw the scholarship in response to the confirmed findings”.
Dr Innocent Chukwuma, Chairman of Nigeria’s indigenous automobile manufacturer, Innoson Vehicles had announced the award of N3 million scholarships to Ejikeme Joy, as overall best-performing candidate at the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
This, according to Dr Chukwuma was a demonstration of its commitment to academic excellence.
