INEC: NNPP support Tinubu choice of Amupitan

The Secretary-General of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Comrade Oginni Olaposi Sunday don hail President Bola Tinubu for him choice of Prof. Amupitan as new INEC chairman.
Oginni talk this one as e react to the usual wahala wey dey always follow appointment of new INEC chairmen for Nigeria.
E remind people say the National Council of State don already approve the appointment of Prof. Amupitan to take over from Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu as INEC chairman.
According to Oginni, Amupitan get serious work wey dey wait am, and e must start work immediately after National Assembly confirm am.
“The first thing Amupitan suppose do na to repair the bad image wey INEC don get for Nigerians’ eyes and make people trust the commission again,” Oginni talk.
E add say, “INEC reputation don spoil well-well over the years. So, Amupitan must fight the corruption wey don enter the system, correct the wrong things wey don happen, and bring back people confidence. E need to study the commission well and make better recommendations to President Tinubu on who suppose remain or commot for INEC so that sanity go return.”
Oginni still talk say President Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council no go just nominate Amupitan for nothing. “Dem must don see him capacity and integrity. The President really wan correct things for Nigeria, and maybe e wan start from INEC.”
E continue: “Wetin Nigeria need now na leaders wey fit take strong decisions if we really wan rebuild this country.”
Oginni come recall say NNPP don see INEC bad side during the party’s internal leadership wahala.
“The former INEC leadership shock us when dem ignore court orders wey talk make dem upload the new NNPP executives. That kain disobedience to law na big shame to democracy,” e talk.
E wonder why the former INEC boss no obey the court. “Na these kain things dey make people lose faith for government institutions,” Oginni add.
E talk say Amupitan get two options — to follow the old INEC chairmen way or make him name enter history as person wey clean up the system. “We hope say the Acting National Chairman go clear the mess before Amupitan take full charge, so him go start with clean hand.”
Oginni also talk say issues like ignoring court judgments must be handled quick-quick.
“E still be like dream to us say some bad people inside INEC join hand change our party logo and colour without our consent or see the original registration certificate. Na pure fraud be that,” e vex talk.
E warn say if INEC fit do that to NNPP, e mean anybody fit waka enter INEC tomorrow and change APC, PDP or Labour Party logo just like that.
“The wahala inside INEC don too much. Dem no dey respect rule of law, court judgments, or internal democracy of political parties. How dem go dey work with people wey party don expel, even to the point of changing NNPP logo and colour to match Kwankwasiyya movement of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso? Na corruption and abuse of power be that.”
Finally, Oginni talk say NNPP go join President Tinubu and other Nigerians support the new INEC boss.
“We go give am maximum support and pray make e no allow distraction stop am from doing him work,” Oginni conclude.
