The Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has called on Christians across the country to use the Easter celebration as a period of deep reflection, spiritual renewal, and recommitment to values that foster national development.

In his Easter message, Mobereola emphasised that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ symbolise enduring virtues such as sacrifice, hope, and renewal—principles he said remain critical to both personal transformation and collective progress.

According to a statement issued by the agency’s Head of Public Relations, Edwards Osagie, the NIMASA boss urged Christians to draw inspiration from the season by strengthening their faith in God and renewing their hope in Nigeria’s future.

“The Easter celebration, which marks the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, should inspire renewed purpose, fresh beginnings, and continued sacrifice in service to the nation and humanity,” Mobereola stated.

He further charged adherents of the Christian faith to consistently uphold core values exemplified by Christ, including love, compassion, discipline, empathy, and selflessness. These virtues, he noted, are fundamental to nurturing patriotism and driving sustainable national growth.

Mobereola stressed that the collective embrace of these ideals would not only strengthen social cohesion but also contribute significantly to building a safer, more prosperous Nigeria.

He therefore urged Nigerians, irrespective of religious affiliation, to imbibe the spirit of Easter and work together towards advancing peace, unity, and development in the country.
