Celebration in Imo community as Eze Onuora holds coronation ceremony

It was a moment filled with joy as the people of Okwudor Ancient Kingdom in Njaba LGA, Imo State witnessed the coronation ceremony of their new Traditional Ruler, HRH.Eze Ben Chidi Onuora the Obi of Okwudor Ancient Kingdom along with his wife, Ugoeze,Ngozi Iheoma Onuora.
The event followed his confirmation by the State Governor, Hope Uzodinma who issued him staff of office recently.
The palace was full of activities as kinsmen, relatives, friends and others troop in, to identify with the Eze, and pay him homage in recognition of his full royal status.
Speaking with some Journalists, Eze Onuora said that he is full of gratitude to God for making the event a successful one.
He also expressed gratitude to his people for finding him worthy to lead them, assuring that he will never betrays the trust bestowed upon him.
Eze Onuora, remarked that his coronation signifies full recognition of his ascending to the throne, coupled with much responsibilities which he has accepted wholeheartedly.
The Monarch maintained that the community is going to witness waves of positive change that will take Okwudor to greater heights.
He said, “The task ahead is enormous and needs everyone’s ideas irrespective of any party, we welcome every idea that gears towards uplifting our people.
Eze Onuora added that he will be committed to upholding the customs and cultural values of the community and at the same time work with the State Government, corporate bodies and individuals to ensure that the community witnesses all round development.
In his speech, the President General of the Community, Joachim Mbama, said that the people of Okwudor know the reason for choosing Eze Onuora as their Monarch.
He maintained that there is no other person capable of ascending the throne than Eze Onuora, who he said has done so much for the community as an individual.
The PG expressed optimism that now that he has become the traditional ruler of the community the people will witness more positive developments.
The Chairman on Consolidated Hallmark Group, Alhaji Shuaibu Abubakar Idris, who witnessed the event, said that Eze Onuora is a long time friend who has helped him in many ways.
He said that he is happy coming to the Southeast to identify with his friend and witness his coronation, maintaining that it is the first time he is witnessing such a ceremony outside his region.
Alhaji Idris prayed for God’s wisdom upon the new Eze, who he said has travelled wide and will reflect the wealth of his experience in the life of his people.
The highlight of the event is the presentation of yam seedlings to the four villages of the Community by the Eze, to mark the beginning of planting season.
