As in every innovation, there are teething problems. The B, Odogwu is no exception.
For the foresight, the courage and the determination to indiginize the transaction platform on which Nigeria transacts it’s customs business, I commend the Comptroller General of Customs, Dr. Adewale Adeniyi.
This vision is exceptional and rooted in visionary patriotism.
A true professional has come to the saddle.
I was in the forefront of the protests against the frustrating delays occasioned by the transition from NICCIS to B, Odogwu.
I couldn’t stomach the hiccups.
For days on end, I complained from desk to desk. The customs appealed for patience. We were unfazed.
Unknown to us, a deep introspection was going on. A perfect fine tuning was going on.
I use my consignments as a test case.
I had 16 containers that I couldn’t transmit from NICCIS to B’ Odogwu.
For weeks, I accrued demurrage.
My importer clients cried to high heavens. I never knew succour was on the way; just like labour pains, the pains have disappeared!
I must thank the DCG( T/T for allowing the commands to approve form Ms’ for speedy transmission to the B, Odogwu platform.
As soon as I transmitted my Form M, the PAAR was issued in less than 24 hours!
Truly, this is wonderful and should be commended.
I urge my colleagues and importers to show utmost restraint and patience, moreso, it has now come on stream and working.
