The South West Zone of the Nigeria Association of Tour Operators (NATOP) has inaugurated its Oyo State chapter in Ibadan, marking a significant milestone in the association’s expansion drive and what officials described as the first inauguration of its kind in the history of the body.
The inauguration, held on May 21, 2026, was led by NATOP National President, Bolaji Mustapha, alongside the South West Zonal Vice President, Anago Osho.
Speaking at the event, Osho described the inauguration as a landmark achievement for the South West Zone, noting that the successful establishment of the Ibadan chapter underscored NATOP’s commitment to strengthening tourism operations and stakeholder engagement across the region.
He credited the achievement to the support and leadership of the national president, praising Mustapha for her “visionary leadership and steadfast commitment” to the growth of the association.
Osho also acknowledged the contributions of key members and stakeholders who played vital roles in the success of the event. Among those recognised were Tunji Akib, Doris Godson, and Ayo for their dedication and support throughout the process.
He further commended Tobiloba Bamisaye, Taiwo Mufuliat Omokunmi, and Michael Balogun for their encouragement and contributions toward the successful hosting of the event.
Special appreciation was also extended to Mahogany Hotel and Suites for hosting what participants described as a historic occasion for tourism stakeholders in the South West region.
