Nigeria has taken a bold step toward digital independence with the launch of the Abaaly App, a homegrown, all-in-one social, communication, and payment platform designed to end what its creators call “foreign social imperialism” in Africa’s tech ecosystem.
Developed by AbaaTech Solutions Limited, the Nigerian technology company unveiled the Abaaly App at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, positioning it as Africa’s first 3-in-1 supp app combining chat, calls, video sharing, and secure financial transactions within a single platform.
The application, built by Nigerian engineers, designers, and innovators, aims to redefine digital interaction on the continent by integrating social networking and fintech functionalities without dependence on Western digital platforms.
Reclaiming Africa’s Digital Space
Speaking at the launch, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AbaaTech Solutions, Mr. Power Aden, described the innovation as more than a technological breakthrough—“a movement of unity, inclusion, and creativity designed to connect every user, strengthen trust, and project Nigeria’s true image to the world.”
According to him, the project began in 2021 with a mission to create a homegrown ecosystem capable of empowering every Nigerian regardless of social status or location.
“After four years of hard work, development, testing, and refinement, this vision has now become a reality,” Aden said. “From 2021 to 2025, Nigerian engineers worked tirelessly to create a secure, reliable, and people-focused platform that reflects the spirit, resilience, and creativity of the Nigerian people.”
Founded in Nigeria and Atlanta, Georgia, in 2021, AbaaTech has evolved from a start-up into a trailblazer in advanced digital integration technologies.
A Super App Built by Nigerians for Nigerians
The Abaaly App merges social engagement and financial services on one secure platform. Users can chat, share multimedia files, make voice and video calls, and complete transactions without switching between applications.
The Chief Operations Officer of AbaaTech, Dr.Ola Raheem, said the innovation symbolizes technological independence for Africa.
“This is the only Nigerian product made by Nigerians for Nigerians,” he said. “We want to end foreign social imperialism that has long limited African technological potential. The Abaaly App is poised to become the face of Africa’s tech space.”
Raheem urged Nigerians to download and support the platform, emphasizing that it would generate employment, reward creators, and showcase the richness of African culture to the world.
Security, Culture, and Inclusion
The company emphasized that the Abaaly App is built with robust cybersecurity systems capable of resisting external attacks and protecting user data through advanced encryption.
Vice President and USA Director, Dr. Kazeem F. Bello, described the platform as “complete and seamless,” allowing users to chat, post, call, and send money all within one interface.
“Even if a friend requests money while chatting, you don’t have to leave the app—you can make the payment instantly without switching platforms,” Bello explained.
The name “Abaaly,” derived from the word “abundant,” symbolizes Africa’s potential and drive for digital self-reliance.
Supporting National Development Goals
Aden said the product aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the National Digital Economy Policy, both of which emphasize inclusion, innovation, and digital empowerment as pathways to national prosperity.
The Abaaly App, he noted, will foster entrepreneurship, creativity, and youth employment by encouraging content creation and local storytelling infused with Nigerian languages and pidgin.
“This innovation represents the beginning of a new digital era for Africa,” Aden concluded. “It is time to tell our stories, share our culture, and build technology that reflects who we are.”
The app is currently available on both Google Play Store and Apple iOS, and its developers say it marks the dawn of a new chapter in Africa’s technological sovereignty.
