Determined to sustain the increase in number of export cargo arising from the Nigerian Port Authority’s licensing of Export Processing Terminals (EPTs), the Managing Director/ CEO, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mohammed Bello KoKo on Monday played host to the executives of the Satellite Truck Park Owners Association at the NPA Headquarters in Marina, Lagos.
Advocacy Time learnt that the meeting focused on placing the needed priority on export cargo in response to the national exigency of boosting exports to strengthen Nigeria’s balance of trade. It was disclosed that timeline was also set for the strict implementation of the Service Level Agreement (SLA) governing truck management and satellite park operations to ensure adherence to best practices.
The Mohammed Bello KoKo-led management of the NPA had recently unleashed stringent measures in collaboration with Lagos State Government that eliminated the decade-long traffic gridlock that had undermined ease of doing business around the Lagos Ports corridor.
