Founder of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Dr Boniface Aniebonam has said that those who think that they have won the Taraba gubernatorial election battle at the Supreme Court are the actual losers because the justice system of God was not prevail but that of man “and in particular the Registrar of the Tribunal who did not disclose the actual records of proceedings for the use of the Appeal Court and the Supreme Court.”
The Supreme Court Friday dismissed the appeal filed by the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and its governorship candidate to challenge Governor Kefas’ election as Taraba State governor. The Supreme Court, on Thursday, affirmed the election of Agbu Kefas as governor of Taraba State
Aniebonam who spoke Friday afternoon in reaction to the Supreme Court judgement which Thursday upheld Agbu Kefas’ election as Taraba governor.
A five-member panel of the court unanimously upheld the election of Mr Kefas of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after dismissing the appeal by the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) and its governorship candidate in the state, Sani Yahaya.
Aniebonam noted in reaction to the development that under the circumstances the Appeal Court and the Supreme Court cannot build on nothing in making decisions in relation to justice system of the Supreme Being.
He said, “Supreme Court is supreme in the physical and the law and there is nothing any one can do at the moment. The God of the New Nigeria People’s Party is reactionary with high responses to injustice to man, society and even the dead.
“We leave it at that and look ahead in the future the emergence of a new Nigeria of our hope and dreams. The mantra of new hope for Nigeria must be our guiding principles.”
