…says ‘news of death left me in shock’
President of Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Chief Tony Iju Nwabunike has expressed regret over the death of Nigeria’s foremost erudite maritime personality and Chairman of Nigerian Port Consultative Forum (NPCF), Otunba Kunle Folarin.
In a statement on Teusday, the respected ANLCA leader penned from the United States of Ameria, where he is on a study leave, he stated that the late Otunba Folarin “impacted on me as an individual through his fatherly role in my early days and guided my path towards professionalism.”
According to him, the death of the renowned maritime expert, “has left a void in our maritime industry where he has contributed immensely from his knowledge and experience.” He added that his contributions were, no doubt, invaluable to the Nigerian maritime industry.
He noted that Otunba Folarin was a believer in the emancipation of the Nigerian economy through a robust maritime sector, saying “Baba left us even when we needed him the most.”
Newabunike condoled with the late Folarin’s widow, children, other members of his immediate family and the entire Nigerian maritime community.
