NAGAFF Apapa Election: ‘Arrest any troublemaker’, Aniebonam orders

The Founder of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr Boniface Aniebonam, has directed the association’s National President, Chief Tochukwu Ezisi, to take decisive action against anyone found disrupting the peace during the ongoing Apapa Chapter election.
Aniebonam specifically urged the NAGAFF leadership to ensure that anyone who breaches the peace is handed over to the Nigeria Police for investigation and, where found culpable, prosecuted in accordance with the law.
The directive was contained in a statement signed by NAGAFF National Publicity Secretary, Dr Clement Iwegbuna.
Aniebonam stressed that membership of NAGAFF is voluntary, arguing that no member should remain in the association if his or her activities threaten the peace and stability of the organisation.
He warned that the NAGAFF High Command would not allow individuals to foment trouble within the association, particularly during the Apapa Chapter electoral process.
According to him, members who are unwilling to abide by the rules governing the association are free to leave and join other freight forwarding organisations.
“The NAGAFF High Command will not fold its hands and watch anyone foment trouble in the NAGAFF family while such a person has a choice of joining any other association other than NAGAFF,” he said.
Aniebonam also said NAGAFF would not tolerate what he described as perceived leadership failures in some sister associations, insisting that the association must maintain discipline, order and adherence to its established rules.
He therefore appealed to voters and contestants in the Apapa Chapter election to conduct themselves peacefully and respect the rules of engagement throughout the electoral process.
He urged all stakeholders to adhere strictly to the electoral guidelines and constitutional provisions of NAGAFF, warning against actions capable of undermining the integrity of the election or destabilising the association.
“Enough is enough,” Aniebonam declared, as he called on all contestants and their supporters to put the interests of NAGAFF above personal ambitions and ensure a peaceful electoral process.
