#AnambraDecides: Soludo ahead of Ozigbo with over 50,000 votes, as supplementary election hold Nov 9
Chukwuma Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), is currently maintaining a healthy lead in the Anambra governorship election.
After results from 20 our of the 21 LGAs were collated on Sunday night, Soludo had secured over 100,000 votes, while Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had less than 55,000 votes.
The third major contender, Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured 42,942 votes.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the election inconclusive.
While announcing the commission’s decision at past 12am on Monday, Florence Obi, returning officer for the election, said the collation of results was suspended to allow for a supplementary election in Ihiala LGA.
Ahmadu Umar, collation officer for Ihiala LGA, had earlier said there was no election in his area.
The supplementary election has been fixed for November 9, 2021.
